Do stretches make you taller? Straight answers
Do stretching exercises make you taller?
Not permanently — stretching doesn't lengthen bones. What it can do is decompress your spine and rebuild posture: most people stand 1–3 cm taller after fixing a slouch, and that's height you keep by holding the posture, not by growing. That's exactly what these guided moves train. During the growing years, regular activity also supports normal growth — it just can't push you past your genetic range.
Does hanging from a bar make you taller?
Hanging decompresses the spine, so you can measure slightly taller right after — and the effect fades within hours as the discs settle again. It's a fine shoulder and grip exercise, not a height hack. If the goal is looking taller for good, posture work pays the same dividend and actually lasts.
Does yoga make you taller?
No — no exercise lengthens bones after the growth plates close. Yoga's real gift is the same one stretching offers: alignment. Standing straight instantly makes you look taller and keeps the height your frame already has. The guided routines here focus on exactly that, one short session a day.
